Hello and welcome to day 3 of my mini-course How To Create The Life You Want! Today, we are ALL about physical health. Now, this is a huge umbrella category so we are only going to focus on a select few subcategories they are as follows:
- Movement
- Nutrition
- Skincare
- Sleep Hygiene
- Selfcare
Movement
Don’t panic, I’m not about to suggest you start a strict workout regime. What I mean by movement is just that. It can be as simple as a walk, stretching everyday, or starting a simple yoga routine. The whole idea is just to get your body moving and your blood flowing. You may decide you want to start a more vigorous routine and for that I applaud you. H.I.I.T, dance and cardio workouts are a great place to start. A goal of mine for the future is to get some workout videos up on my YouTube channel and put my personal training background to good use. I’m honestly such a big fan of just putting on some favorite music and have a dance party by myself when I need to get my body moving.
Nutrition
Nutrition is huge when it comes to our physical health. How we fuel our mind and body is what matters most. Hydration is number one when it comes to our nutrition health. Everything in our body runs on water.
Why should I drink more water?
- Water relieves fatigue
- Improves your mood
- Helps with headaches and migraines
- Helps your body digest
- Flushes toxins out of the body
- Improves brain function
- Prevents and improves cramping
- Improves skin health
- Fights bad breath
As you can see water does so many good things for the body and combats a huge amount of negatives!
Quick Tips to Save Money and Eat Healthy
- Plan your meals
- Eat at home
- Buy generic or no name brands
- Cut down on the processed foods and drinks
- Add as many fruits and veggies to your diet as you can
- Eat more fiber rich foods
- Eat saturated fats like avocado’s, nuts and seeds, cook with healthy oils like coconut, avocado and sunflower seed oil
- The more colorful your plate the better
Skincare
We talked about water and hydration in the previous bit and that is number 1 when it comes to skincare! When it comes to your skin hydration is everything! That’s why Hydrochloric acid is one of the best serums for you to add to your skincare routine!
But of course serums are not the end all be all of skincare. If you’re like me, simple is better. So, I’m going to walk you through my easy skincare routine and then give you some additional tips to up your skin game!
Day Time Routine
- Cleansing (I use Micellar water)
- Toning (I love the Thayers Facial Toner with Witch hazel and cucumber)
- Serum (Hydrochloric acid for the win!)
- Moisturizer (Right now I’m loving the Midha rice lotion)
- Sunscreen (The Olay Complete SPF cream is my go to!)
Night Time Routine
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Serum
- Eye cream
- Moisturizer
Additionally, once a week you want to make sure you are exfoliating your face and using some kind of mask. I love the Garnier Charcoal peel off mask and Formula 10.0.6 “Get your glow on” skin-brightening peel mask with papaya + citrus.
Lips
I’m very simple when it comes to lips. I use Burt’s Bee’s honey sugar scrub or sometimes my homemade sugar scrub with coconut oil and a lip mask The Body Shop’s avocado overnight lip mask.
Body Skincare Routine
I am absolutely obsessed with body oils. Jojoba is my favorite but I’ve also enjoyed coconut oil, rose hip, and other’s. I use body oils for my dry brushing. If you haven’t jumped on the dry brushing band wagon I highly recommend you do! Sugar scrubs and coffee scrubs (I make mine at home) are also huge for exfoliating the body, I do a weekly selfcare reset and start with dry brushing then hop in the tub and make sure to add a scrub to my routine. Additionally, I love magnesium lotion and Native’s lilac and white tea body wash – oh my gosh!- it smells so good. Every time I have a bath I always add Epsom salts, baking soda and Himalayan salt to the water. This combo SLAPS! My skin has NEVER been softer. Last but not least I end with either a cream or more body oil. Another addition to my routine is I will do a separate foot soak again with Epsom salt, baking soda and Himalayan salt, however the scrub I use of my feet is a sugar scrum with tea tree oil added to it for anti-bacterial properties.
Sleep Hygiene
Sleep and sleep hygiene are probably the number one thing that can make or break your physical health and so many of us put our sleep health as a last priority on our list. I am asking you to change things up and take some time and effort to improving your sleep and sleep hygiene.
What is sleep hygiene?
Sleep hygiene is essentially behaviors and habits that go into you having a healthy sleep. It includes your bedtime routine leading up to laying down, your habits during the day as well as the sleep you had the night before.
How can you improve your sleep hygiene?
Improving your sleep hygiene can be as simple as avoiding caffeine after a certain time in the day, or cutting down your screen time before bed.
This next article is written by a Dr. and is included in this post as there is nothing I could add to such professional and well written advice.

Selfcare
When it comes to selfcare you see a lot of the stuff we talked about in skincare. Long baths, sugar scrubs, face masks, nail painting etc. I want to talk about a different type of selfcare. The kind you don’t always want to do. Selfcare is not always aesthetically pleasing, sometimes it’s doing laundry for the first time in two weeks or feeding yourself a proper meal for the first time in three days. Sometimes, selfcare means getting out of bed when your mind and body feel like they are weighted down by the world and everything in your life. Selfcare can be hard and ugly. But regardless, it means setting your future self up for success by doing the things we want to put off now so that things will be easier for us tomorrow.
A good place to start with this is to make a journal list of all the things that are not serving you right now that you are avoiding. This will help brain dump and get things off your mind for one but it will also give you a place to start. Don’t try to tackle your whole list at once, do 1-3 items on your list at a time and slowly chew it away.
Thank you guys so much for tuning into part 3 of my mini course How To Create The Life You Want. I hope you feel inspired and ready to move forward towards a healthier and happier you! You can also follow me here YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Much love always <3 Ky
